Megan Grant on After Hours

An Evening with Megan Grant On After Hours

On Monday, May 20th, Megan Grant joins us on After Hours to talk about her experiences transitioning from one primary career path to another. It’s been quite some time since Megan was on After Hours, and I’m looking forward to talking with her again.

I just realized that it’s been almost three years!

Since that time, a lot has happened with both of us. And the theme for the night will center around evolving over time and why it’s often necessary. Some do it for mental health reasons, others will do so to change the pace of life. In any case, evolution from one’s field isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

When last I spoke with Megan, she was still working with clients. However, being a freelancer and business owner is no longer her persona. You’ve probably noticed the shift in the types of videos she makes on YouTube.

A Little Bit About Megan Grant

I first met Megan on Twitter. We were both freelance writers at that time. But where she was more focused on private clients and building her own content agency, I was making a living grinding out articles on Textbroker.

Eventually, I outgrew content mills and started working with private clients myself.

We both had different paths to the same destination.

However, Megan has since moved on to writing and publishing books. Sound familiar? Perhaps it’s an inevitable stage with freelance writers. Maybe we are driven to keep pushing the boundaries and experience other ways to enjoy our craft.

Although I still love the work I do for GreenGeeks, my passion has always centered around being an author.

That’s what inspired me to ask Megan Grant to be on After Hours again. Not only is she a good friend, but I wanted to talk about evolving from what we perceived to be set paths back in the day.

I’d also like to touch on mental health and how sometimes you have to do what needs to be done to keep yourself right. We all have issues that we need to work out, and Megan is handling herself well.

Where Can You Find Megan’s Work?

Megan-Book

You can find Megan’s book, I Think I Left the Curling Iron On, on Amazon. It’s an insight into being a woman and the things women go through but are unwilling to say out loud.

I have to say that reading the description of the book made me chuckle. Well done, my friend. I’m so happy things are working out so well for you and can’t wait to have you on the show.

You can also find out more about Megan on her blog. And unlike myself, Megan actually publishes content on her TikTok account.

Yeah…I’m working on it – ish.

Hope to See You On Monday!

I’ve been looking forward to having Megan return to After Hours for quite some time. I’m glad that our schedules synced up this time around. We’ll be live on WriterSanctuary’s YouTube channel at 7:00 PM MTN (9:00 Pm EST / 6:00 PM PST).
