$15 per Hour

Can You Earn $15 Per Hour as a 3-Star in Textbroker?

Last Updated on by Michael Brockbank

Is it possible for a 3-star author in Textbroker to make a minimum of $15 per hour? The short answer is: absolutely. However, it takes a great deal of work especially if you’re only focusing on the Open Pool.

In reality, you can make quite a bit more if you really put in the effort.

Let’s take a look at some of the things that will affect how much you make as a 3-star author in Textbroker.

Relying Purely on the Open Pool

Open Pool

The Open Pool of orders are those located in the “Assignments” tab in Textbroker. These are jobs any freelance writer can pick up and complete. And as a 3-star writer, you’re only going to get $0.01 per word in this section.

This means you need to write a minimum of 1500 paid words per hour. This includes any editing time and research the order may need as well.

Now, this isn’t entirely impossible. But you’ll need to be pretty fast.

For instance, I average around 1,000 to 1,100 words per hour including research and editing. To put it into perspective, I can type around 60 words per minute but I slow down for quality and to make sure research is in every piece.

And if you want to replace a full-time income with Textbroker, you’ll need 12,000 words throughout the entire day to average out $15 per hour for an 8-hour day. This is based on a full-time income in the US.

If you’re able to type fast and provide excellent quality to clients, it’s possible to reach these numbers. However, you’ll need to consistently keep yourself writing throughout the day if you want to bring in that much money.

You need to figure in breaks and lunch as well, which will take away from writing.

When I first started as a 3-star author in Textbroker, I had the benefit of another full-time job. I worked for the school district while writing part-time in the afternoons.

And as a level 3 in Textbroker, my best week only brought in just over $12 per hour.

Then again, you may be faster and better than myself. I’m not the fastest typist in the world, which means you could do better or worse than what I was making.

What About Direct Order Clients

When it comes to making any money in Textbroker, Direct Orders are among the best to complete. In fact, you can vastly increase your chances of making $15 per hour in Textbroker by getting a few regular clients.

This is because you can change how much clients pay you for the time. Instead of settling for $0.01 per word in the Open Pool, you can charge anything you’d like.

However, you want to make sure you’re not charging too much to each client. Setting your prices too high will scare many of them away.

For example, charging more than $0.014 per word is more than what a client would pay in the Open Pool for a 4-star author. Some may pay the amount you set, but many might shy away and just us the Open Pool instead.

But is it possible for a 3-star writing to attract Direct Order clients in Textbroker? Absolutely!

In fact, I had quite a few before I became a 4-star writer. And these Direct Orders helped me replace a full-time income from the school district.

I had one particular client who sent five orders per day for almost a year straight as a 3-star author.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a bit of a chore to attract clients for Direct Orders. You’ll need to make sure you have a fully completed profile in Textbroker and demonstrate a great deal of professionalism.

However, Direct Orders are probably the best way to make $15 per hour or more on Textbroker. You just need to market yourself well on the platform and provide consistent quality content.[template id=”2087″]

What About Teams?

Team Orders

Teams are easily one of my favorite ways to write on Textbroker. Usually, they either pay far better than the Open Pool or have such easy work available that you can make some serious income.

As a level 3, it’s not impossible to find good teams to join. It’s just a bit more difficult. Unfortunately, most of the best teams require a minimum of level 4.

However, I have made a few extra bucks on level 3 teams when I was first starting out.

A good example of easy work is one of the teams I am on. Sure, this team pays less than what I, a current 4-star writer, can make in the Open Pool, but the orders are so simple that I usually tear through them incredibly fast.

In many instances, even as a 3-star writer, I was pushing closer to $18 per hour while writing those pieces.

While teams are more plentiful for 4-star authors, it’s still something you should consider looking for as a level 3. You never know when you’ll come across a gem of a team.

What Are Your Goals as a 3-Star Author?

First, are you looking to replace a full-time income or just want some extra cash?

Your goals are going to greatly affect how hard you’re going to work. For myself, I needed to prove to myself and my ex that I could sustain a workflow.

Of course back then, this meant I needed to replace $8.40 an hour from the school district.

If you are planning on turning writing from home into a career, it’s going to take a lot of effort. Not only do you need to market yourself well, you’ll need to demonstrate to clients your abilities as a writer.

And I’m not just talking about using Textbroker, either. Whether you write for content mills or look for private clients, it takes a lot of work to be a successful freelance writer from home.

How Can You Reach a 4-Star Level in Textbroker?

Everyone will advance in Textbroker at different speeds. While some may start off as a level 4, others have to work hard at it.

However, there are a few key components that will impact how quickly you reach a 4-star level:

  • Learning AP Style English
The more you learn regarding AP style English, the better off you’ll be in Textbroker. This includes everything from grammar to punctuation.
  • Work on Issues Pointed Out by Editors
Reviews from editors are vital to spruce up your writing abilities. Write down the comments and work on what the editors mention. Don’t forget that you can learn anything in a Google search.
  • Keep a Completed and Updated Profile
Having a fleshed out profile will draw the attention of clients and Textbroker management. These often bring Direct and Team Orders. And the more work you do, the greater your chances of going up a level.
  • Keep Practicing Writing Even if You’re Not Getting Paid
I spent a lot of time practicing what I learned from Textbroker editors. Whether it’s a blog post, writing on Vocal.media or just creating a simple doc file on your computer, keep practicing what you learn!

Lastly, keep in mind that it could take quite a while to go up to a 4-star level. It takes quality and patience if you truly want to make a living on Textbroker.

Getting $15 Per Hour in Textbroker

So in a nut shell, it’s not impossible to reach $15 per hour as a 3-star author in Textbroker. It just takes a lot of effort and hard work. But it’s worth it in the end if it helps you overall as a freelance writer.

Everything you learn while writing from this content mill will contribute to your abilities outside of that system. This means having an easier time finding private clients who pay well.

In fact, I bet you’d hit level 4 before making $15 per hour.
