How to Set Up a Free Account with Reedsy Studio

Last Updated on by Michael Brockbank

Setting up a free Reedsy Studio account is relatively easy. By signing up with Reedsy, you get access to a variety of free tools and more, so it’s worth the time to create the account. The best part is that you can completely write and publish your eBook for free.

Then, you just need to upload the ePub or PDF file to your favorite book site.

FAQs for Setting Up a Free Reedsy Account

Can’t I just sign up from the Reedsy Studio page?

Yes. However, I’ve heard of people getting lost in the weeds from that page, so this tutorial shows you how to do so from the main Reedsy website. Plus, you get to see a lot of the things Reedsy offers from this path.

Do you need to upgrade to publish an eBook?

No. Reedsy Studio lets you write and export ePub and PDF files. That means you can use them in most systems for selling eBooks.

Publishing from Reedsy Studio for Free

Once your book is ready to publish, Reedsy makes it easy to export. The system will automatically convert the files into ePub or PDF file formats, and then you can use them with your favorite publishing site, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or by selling eBooks from your own website.

Although you have access to far more tools in the paid version of Reedsy Studio, such as expanding the planning board, you can still write and publish a book for free.

I’ve made several videos on how to use Reedsy Studio, so it may be worthwhile to watch a few of them.

Reedsy Studio is Among My Favorite Tools

I’ve been using Reedsy Studio for several years now, and I have published two of my three books from the platform. Plus, I’m wrapping up a couple more that I plan to publish in the next couple of months.

While I pay the yearly subscription for Reedsy Studio, the first two books were published through the free platform. And with all of the additions Reedsy keeps adding to both the Studio app and to their own website, it’s easily among my favorite companies.

I create a lot of content for Reedsy on both the blog and YouTube channel. But if there is something I haven’t covered yet that you would like to know, feel free to leave a comment.

I’m always looking for content ideas.

Need help writing your book? Knowing how to structure your manuscript can go a long way to providing a better exeperience for your readers. Take a look at the Reedsy Masterclass for How to Write a Novel. It was perhaps the most influential three months I've spent for crafting my books.
