An Evening with Gary Kidney on After Hours

Last Updated on by Michael Brockbank

On April 14th, 2025, I will be joined by Gary Kidney for a live author interview on After Hours. He is the author of a spy thriller taking place in one of my favorite time periods, World War II. And from what I’ve read of the description, it’s more than likely getting added to my TBR pile.

I’ve always been a fan of World War II stories, both imagined and real. In reality, I spend way too much time watching documentaries.

A Bit About Gary Kidney

As an educator and a student, Gary has had quite a long career, holding several degrees and serving as Deputy Chief Information Officer at Yale in 2015. He’s taught hundreds of professors to use technology as a tool as well as thousands of students ranging from eighth grade to graduate studies.

Gary also enjoys traveling. In fact, he hopped across several countries in Europe to research his book, The Eagle Scout Picture. This journey included Germany, Poland, Austria, and the United Kingdom.

That’s one thing I would love to do, eventually. Then again, my next book is based in Denver – and I live here.

His next book, according to his blog, is a sequel that leads through the beginnings of the Cold War. But if you want a bit of non-fiction entertainment, he also has a series of posts regarding some of the things he’s come across in his travels. And some have been published on other platforms.

For instance, the story of Jeanette Rankin is a good read, especially if you’re into historical nonfiction.

Where Can You Find His Books?

Gary’s award-winning book, The Eagle Scout Picture, is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books. You can also get a taste of the book on his website, where you’ll find links to where you can buy them at the bottom.

If you have the time, it’s a very interesting read.

Join Us, Won’t You?

On Monday, April 14th, at 7:00 PM (MTN) time, Gary Kidney and I will be live for the interview. Feel free to join us on the YouTube channel and bring some questions along. Being an interested World War II fanatic, I already have several that I’m looking forward to asking.
