Finding Legitimate Freelance Opportunities

Last Updated on by Michael Brockbank

If you are looking to work from home as a freelance writer, designer, or other technical skilled work finding legitimate opportunities on the Internet may prove to be challenging at times.  Have you ever tried to run the search term, “work from home” in any search engine?  You are bombarded by scam sites and get-rich-quick schemes and it could take a great deal of time to sift through them all.  It can get frustrating.

One thing to keep in mind when you are looking for legitimate freelance opportunities is that the real ones will never ask you for money.  Legitimate opportunities won’t bother you for a down-payment or an investment of any kind.  There will be no kits to buy or setup fees of any kind.  Legitimate freelance businesses such as oDesk.com or TextBroker.com make their money from connecting clients to freelancers.  There are no lists to pay for or shipping supplies to recover from.

If you come across a website that is willing to give you free information and all you have to do is pay for the shipping, move on.  You should never have to pay in order to find work.  Even with those late night commercials on how to get money this week have a kink in their works.  Keep in mind that it is easy to fake “evidence” when they show you how much money they are depositing each week.
