1000 Posts Published Soon

Breaking 1,000 Published Posts by August!

WriterSanctuary is about to hit the 1,000-post mark for content. And I find it kind of exciting to hit such a massive milestone. So, I think I’m going to do some giveaways and such to celebrate. I want to do something special for the readers who inspire me to keep going.

Considering how most blogs pitter out after the first six months, hitting 1,000 published posts is quite an accomplishment. It’s a testament to my dedication to writing and helping others along the way.

Sure, not every post lands well with the readers. But I feel great knowing that I’ve helped hundreds of people since the early days in 2013.

Why Do 1,000 Posts Matter to Me?

Publishing 1,000 posts isn’t necessarily a difficult thing to do, especially for those who have personal blogs. I know a lot of folks who write something every day about their lives. But for me, it’s quite a massive undertaking.

Think about it; I have four major blogs, three YouTube channels, a podcast that I’m trying to get off the ground, writing books, and working with clients. Then, I am adding going back to college in the next couple of months. I don’t have the time to write every day on a single blog.

Not to mention the fact that the majority of what I write is educational, whether it’s reviews or tutorials. Those articles alone take anywhere from two to three hours. I’ve had a few take up to four hours just for the research and screenshots.

So, for WriterSanctuary to hit 1,000 published posts, I feel a great swell of pride and accomplishment.

When Will We Hit 1,000 Posts?

At the time this article goes live, there will be 927 published posts on this blog. If I maintain the three-per-week schedule, WriterSanctuary will hit 1,000 published posts by the end of August. However, I sometimes have four posts published in a week if I set up an author interview.

At the rate things are going, I bet we’ll hit 1,000 somewhere by the end of July. That would be pretty cool if it landed on my birthday.

Of course, this doesn’t include pages that I’ve created for the site. For example, I’m not counting the contact forms and the like. This is purely for published posts.

So, technically, I’ll have more than a thousand pieces of published content on the site by then.

Doing the Vast Majority On My Own

Also, consider that I’ve published the majority of the content on this site by myself. I’ve had a few guest authors and sponsorships, but I’ve been responsible for the lion’s share of the material.

There were quite a few years when there was a lull in the content. Keep in mind that I’ve been trudging through a non-stop level of chaos since 2019. However, I’ve still managed to keep the site going and growing – Google permitting.

In the beginning, WriterSanctuary was more of an outlet about my journey to become a freelance writer. I wanted to share everything I’ve learned and what steps I’ve taken in the hopes of helping others. Plus, it gave me a chance to practice the things I learned about AP Style English and SEO.

Over the years, the blog grew as my interests broadened. Instead of just sharing my experiences with content mills, I now try to help self-publishing authors and bloggers of all kinds. And I recently developed an interest in screenplay writing and creative content.

If it has anything to do with writing, I’m exploring the potential.

The best part is that I don’t see myself slowing down anytime in the near future. There is still so much to learn and share, and I am doing what I can to make it all happen.

I doubt I’ll ever retire from writing and blogging.

This Doesn’t Include My Client Work

Something to consider is that all of this content doesn’t include anything I’ve published for clients since 2012. From content mills to GreenGeeks Web Hosting, I’ve published a lot of content across the globe.

I’ve had one hell of a productive career when you think about it.

Balancing all of this content hasn’t been easy, mind you. Not everyone can handle the level of stress or the consistent productivity of producing all of this material. In fact, I’ve been called “a machine” by several of my peers.

I am a writer. It’s the first thing I think about when I wake up, and it’s the last thing I think about before going to bed. I’ve written content with terrible fevers, ear infections, COVID, and fractured feet. I’ve had to deal with some of the worst personal experiences imaginable, but I eventually make my way back to the keyboard.

Nothing stops me, especially when the topic hits just right.

This doesn’t mean that I am superhuman. I’ve just spent a long time developing strategies and knowledge to help me become more efficient and focused. It wasn’t something I just started doing overnight.

I am a prime example of what you can do as long as you don’t give up and keep pushing, even when life throws horrendous experiences in your path.

Never give up, never surrender!

What Kind of Celebration Are We Having?

I wish that I had courses or something worthwhile to give away that was blog-related. Who knows, I might have some courses set up before July. But at the moment, here are some of my ideas:

  • Giving away autographed copies of my books.
  • Discounts at the WriterSanctuary online store.
  • Live streaming when the 1,000th post goes live.
  • Giving away Barnes & Noble gift cards again.

If you have any ideas, let me know in the comments of this post or any of my YouTube videos. After all, this celebration is as much for you as it is for me. If not for my readers and viewers, my career might have been much different.

You are my inspiration to keep doing what I do. So, I want something that we can all enjoy once that 1,000th blog post goes live.

We still have several months before that happens, so there’s really no rush.

What About the Other Blogs?

For the longest time, CrossingColorado.com was my primary site. After Google torpedoed it with the YMYL/Medic update, I started focusing more effort into WriterSanctuary. Shortly thereafter, I built the YouTube channel.

Currently, CrossingColorado has 705 published posts. But until I can figure out a way to make Google happy and update some of the older pieces of content, it’ll be a long time until it hits 1,000 published posts.

As for ColoradoPlays.com, that one is only sitting at 184 articles. So, it’s doubtful the gaming site will see 1,000 anytime in the near future. Even with paying freelancers for content, it’ll still take a couple of years to publish 816 posts.

And MichaelBrockbank.com is just there. I want to do more with it for selling books directly and to build something for any fans I accumulate. But with the sheer volume of things I do throughout the week, it’s the site that usually gets the back burner.

Nonetheless, I’ll keep writing content for all four of the websites. And perhaps I’ll make CrossingColorado.com my content project for 2026. Even at three posts per week, though, it would take nearly two years for the site to hit 1,000 posts.

Let’s Keep the Momentum

I have no intention of slowing down my writing. However, I’ll need to adjust my schedule again in May to accommodate my college classes. I’ve been accepted to Southern New Hampshire University to start working on my master’s degree.

I’m not sure what that’s going to look like in terms of time. If I can manage it, perhaps I can do something similar to what I did while taking the Reedsy masterclass. In that case, I took a block of time first thing in the morning every day to work on the course.

Regardless, it’s definitely going to be one of my better years. Let’s get ready for some kind of party in August!
