On February 5th was joined by Laura E. Thompson during the After Hours live stream on WriterSanctuary’s YouTube channel. Laura is the first official guest of WriterSanctuary for 2024!
I’ve been wanting to have more authors on the show for a while now, and I’m excited to have Laura available. I’m looking forward to a great evening interview and hopefully encourage some viewer questions for this talented writer.
An Interview with Laura E. Thompson
A Little About Laura

Like many of us, Laura was inspired to write at a young age. Like myself, she got sidetracked by life for a few years before making a commitment to herself to become an author.
However, it took much longer for me to get that fire lit to start publishing books. Instead of years, I was moving along in decades.
As a fan of JRR Tolkien and JK Rowling, Laura started writing because she wanted to read the stories she was hoping other writers would create. But why wait for someone to write something when she could do it herself?
Writing every evening and weekend for a year, Laura pushed to finish her first book as the beginning of her journey as an author.
For those who love the Fantasy genre, the Elven Quest and the Witches of Tradbeldam books are right up your alley.
Laura also helped create Writer’s Journey Services in which she, RB Michaels, and Sara Burton help aspiring authors find fair and affordable assistance with publishing.
These services include:
- Comprehensive Editing (includes line, copy, developmental, and content editing)
- Manuscript Coach
- Media Specialist
- Web Design
- Author Logo
- Book Covers
- Publishing
- Fantasy Maps
An alumna of Castleton University (now part of Vermont State University), her time spent as a Sociology major helped her understand how people relate to one another, contributing to a realism in her writing.
Laura continues to write fantasy novels with several more planned for the future.
Where Can You Find Her Books?

Currently, Laura has 9 titles available on Amazon, which you can read for free through Kindle Unlimited. Or, you can buy most of them outright in eBook, paperback, and hardcover versions.
She can also be found on Goodreads, Better World Books, and SciFier as well as several other sites across the Internet. Just make sure not to confuse her with another author of the same name.
And, of course, you can also find them on her website where she breaks down what each book is about should you want more information.
Bring Your Questions to the Live Stream
It was a lot of fun having Laura on the After Hours show. Hopefully, she’ll make a return in the future to let us know what she has been up to.
In the meantime, don’t forget to tune into After Hours on YouTube at 7 PM MTN on Mondays. I have plans for adding more interviews and probably a bit of stability.
I tend to go off the rails a bit more than many might think.
