On July 14th, 2025, I will be joined by Kristina Elyse Butke on After Hours for a live interview. Kristina is another author who has done quite a bit with her career, and I’m looking forward to asking her about some of the highlights.
Kristina is a bit new as an author. Her debut book was published in July of 2024, but she’s had quite a career in various forms of writing. She has an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction and has been in various places around the globe exploring various career paths that utilize the degree.
A Bit About Kristina Butke
Kristina appears to have quite a knack when it comes to comics. Not only is she a contributor to The Beat, but Kristina is also a fan of manga, cosplaying, and attending various cons.
Although I’m not as much of a fan of comics these days, I did have quite a Wolverine collection until I moved to Denver. I had to sell it off to pay for moving to Colorado, which broke my heart.
Before diving into creative writing, Kristina Butke was focused more on plays and musical theater. She switched to Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University in 2013.
Kristina is all over the Internet on various social media platforms. It’s easy to follow her on your social of choice, including Tumblr.
I never really got into the whole Tumblr thing. I think perhaps it’s because I’ve had my own websites since 2008 and never thought to launch anything on another platform. Still, she’s on Tumblr if you want to follow the things she contributes.
Where Can You Find Kristina’s Books?
Currently, you can find Kristina’s book, Son of the Siren, on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indigo, and Bookshop.org. It was published by Oliver Heber Books and ranks relatively well in specific categories on Amazon.
This is actually the first time that I’ve seen or heard of Bookshop.org. I might have to check it out. There are so many places you can place your book on the Internet, and I’m looking forward to asking Kristina which has been the better platform for her needs.
It might help some aspiring authors decide where to put the time and energy.
Hang Out With Us On July 14th!
Kristina Elyse Butke will be with me on After Hours on July 14th at 7:00 pm (MTN). The show is live, so bring your questions along and meet a great author who has done a lot over the past decade. From living and teaching in Japan to living in Wales, it all culminated in fueling her inspiration to write.
Don’t forget, it’ll also be posted to the podcast on Spotify if you miss it live on YouTube.
