On June 9th, I am joined by Arlo “Zven” Graves for a live Interview on After Hours. Author of Black Rose and The Ice Moves for No One, Zven has also won awards for short story writing. I’m especially looking forward to asking about the Western, especially after I read some of the reviews.
I met Arlo on Threads a few months ago, and am excited to have them on the show.
A Bit About Arlo Z. Graves
Born in the woods, Zven resides in a salvaged shack. They have given this home a name – Gerald. I’ve often fantasized about living in the woods in something similar. Of course, my ideal cabin is in the mountains surrounded by trees.
Zven also likes hiking at night. I’m not sure if I would do so nowadays, mostly because I’ve hurt myself a few times and am getting too old to go adventuring in the woods in the dark. Not that I think woods are scary, but because I’m afraid of the bill at the emergency room.
Like so many others I’ve had on the show recently, Arlo’s TikTok is empty. I’m glad I’m not the only one not really putting effort into TikTok’s madness. I’m sure it works for some, but I just can’t really think of much to add to mine.
Where Can You Find Their Books?
You can find Zven’s books on the normal platforms, such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. However, they also use Apple, Kobo, and Smashwords. You can find the books on your platform of choice by visiting their website.
I am quite interested in Black Rose, though. After writing Shadows of Atlantic City, I guess I feel connected to unorthodox Westerns. After reading the description, it sounds like a very interesting book.
You can also find Zven’s Kickstarter for The Ice Moves for No One. I haven’t seen a book on Kickstarter before, but I suppose it’s a great way to support artists of all kinds.
