02/24/2013 – Weather Storm Stranded Me in Denver

Last Updated on by Michael Brockbank

Well, it looks like this winter storm, dubbed Rocky, has stranded me and my family in South Denver.  As my writing career allows me to write from anywhere as long as I have an Internet connection, I am not too worried about keeping up with my workload.  In fact, I have eight client orders waiting for me to finish them right now.

I am concerned that this snow storm is keeping me from being home, which is 140+ miles away and I have several pets that I hope are OK.  Not too mention that we have to spend the money to stay an additional night.  We left home at just after 1:00 pm and here it is Sunday…three hotel nights later.  However, my daughters think this is the coolest incident ever.  Just not sure if my pocketbook is going to agree.  Granted, I make enough every day as a freelance writer that I can keep paying for a hotel room, but I would like to get some bills paid.

Thursday is my last day at my other job.  I make far more money as a writer and starting Friday, that is all I will be for a while.  I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to quite a job before.  However, I did give my two-weeks notice and have informed the district that if they ever need my help due to overload of work then I would be happy to help.  Unfortunately, I have to take tomorrow off and Thursday off thanks to court.

With all of the work that is available right now on TextBroker, I can keep plenty busy writing articles all day long.  I just hope that I am able to get home tomorrow.  I still have a lot of planning to do for when I am done working on Thursday.

I have been playing with the idea of doing a little bit of work on my Google Adwords account.  Last June, I made quite a bit of money using Adwords and affiliate links from ShareASale.com, but I had to use all of that money paying rental fees on my office.  Now that I am getting control over my life, thanks to writing as a freelancer, I am eager to start putting effort into the Adwords thing again.  I can write for six to eight hours per day in order to pay my bills, and then spend one to two hours per day managing my Adwords account.  That way, I don’t have to rely on Adwords to pay my personal bills as the writing will do that itself.  Since I don’t need the Adwords money for anything in particular, I can keep rolling more money into it to gain momentum of making more and more money per week.  Last June, I made $470+ in just a matter of four days or so from spending $150.  Although Adwords isn’t really tied too heavily into writing, I will still put what I’ve found works the best for me on this website.  Indirectly, you need to write and know the difference of relevant content in order to increase success at Adwords.

Having extra time will also help me develop my own websites.  As I have to split my time between everything I am involved in, I don’t really get as much content posted as I want.  However, I plan on writing at least one article for each of my websites every day starting Friday.

Anyway, it is time for me to get back to writing.  I need to make a bunch of money by Friday in order to make up for the losses of this weekend.  As I am level 4 with happy regular clients, $17-$20 per hour will make up those losses fairly quick.
